Setting Up Purple+ on Your Smart TV

Your Purple+ apps work on phones and laptops, but most families enjoy them on the biggest screen in the house. Here is how to get everything set up on your smart TV in a single evening.

Give the TV a strong connection

Streaming quality depends on how the TV connects to your router. If possible, run an Ethernet cable from the router to the TV — it is the most stable option and prevents buffering during 4K content. If a cable is not practical, connect the TV to your 5 GHz Wi-Fi network and keep the router reasonably close.

Update the TV first

Install pending software updates on the TV before adding apps. Older TV software can cause apps to crash or refuse to install.

Install the apps you will use

Open the TV's app store and install the Purple+ apps your family will actually watch. Some TVs come with popular apps pre-installed. If an app is not available on your TV model, a streaming stick or set-top box can fill the gap.

Sign in with your registered mobile number

Each app's subscription is linked to the mobile number registered with your UbiFi account. When signing in on the TV:

• Choose "sign in with mobile number" and enter the OTP, or
• Use the "link a device" option: the TV shows a code or QR, which you enter or scan from the app on your phone.

If a subscription does not appear, check that you used the registered number and try logging out and back in.

Arrange the home screen

Move the apps you open most often to the first row. Hide or uninstall apps nobody uses so that elders and children can find what they want quickly.

Create profiles

Set up separate profiles for adults and children. Recommendations stay relevant, and kids profiles keep content age-appropriate.

Check streaming quality settings

Inside each app, set video quality to "Auto" or "High" rather than "Data saver". Your UbiFi plan is truly unlimited, so there is no need to restrict quality.

A wired or strong Wi-Fi connection, the registered mobile number and a tidy home screen are all it takes. Once set up, your Purple+ bundle feels like one big entertainment system.
