Five Hidden Gems to Watch on Your Purple+ Apps

Most people open the same two apps every evening and scroll the same rows of recommendations. Your Purple+ bundle has far more to offer. Here are five places worth exploring this weekend.

1. Regional cinema you won't find elsewhere

Chaupal, Stage and Dollywood Play carry films, web series and comedy in Punjabi, Haryanvi, Bhojpuri and other languages. Many titles are small-budget, story-driven productions that rarely appear on bigger platforms. Watching with family members who speak the language adds to the fun.

2. Podcasts and audio stories

HubHopper offers podcasts on business, self-improvement, mythology, comedy and current affairs. Audio is perfect for commutes, cooking or winding down at night without another screen. Try listening during your morning walk.

3. Free live channels for background viewing

DistroTV, OTTLive and nexGTV bring live channels across news, music, travel and lifestyle. They are useful when you want something on in the background while working or cooking, without committing to a specific show.

4. International films for movie night

Lionsgate Play is home to Hollywood films and international series. Plan a themed movie night — action, thrillers or classics — and make it a family ritual.

5. Devotional and spiritual programming

Bhaktiflix and OM TV carry aartis, bhajans, discourses and devotional stories. Elders at home often appreciate having these available on the big screen in the morning.

Tips for discovering more

• Browse each app's "regional" or "originals" sections rather than the home page.
• Add interesting titles to watchlists as you browse.
• Create separate profiles so recommendations improve for each family member.

Make the most of what you pay for

Your subscription covers all 17 apps whether you use them or not. Spending an hour exploring is the easiest way to get more value from your plan.

The bottom line

Purple+ is more than two big apps. Regional cinema, podcasts, live channels, international films and devotional content are all waiting — open a few new apps this weekend and see what you have been missing.
