Moving Your TV Connection to a New Home
Shifting homes? Here is how to move your DTH or IPTV connection along with your broadband.

Moving house is hectic, and the TV is usually one of the first things the family asks about on the first evening in the new place. A little planning ensures your channels move with you.
IPTV moves with your broadband
If you receive TV over IPTV, it travels with your fiber connection. Once broadband is installed at the new home, connect the set-top box to the router and your channels return — usually without any extra visit. This is one of the practical advantages of IPTV over satellite.
DTH needs a dish reinstallation
A DTH dish has to be removed from the old home and reinstalled with precise alignment at the new address. Book the shift in advance, check where the dish can be mounted and confirm whether the new building has restrictions on dishes or roof access.
Check building rules early
Many apartment societies restrict dishes on balconies or require approval for roof installations. Ask the society office before moving day so you know whether DTH is practical or whether IPTV is the easier option.
Pack the equipment carefully
Keep the set-top box, remote, power adapter and HDMI cable together in a labelled bag. Losing a power adapter in the move is a surprisingly common reason for a blank TV on the first night.
Plan the TV location with the router in mind
For IPTV, the set-top box works best when connected to the router with a cable. If the TV will be far from the fiber point, plan a cable route or a powerline adapter before the installation visit.
Update your address and account
Inform your provider of the new address so that billing, support visits and service records stay accurate.
Consider upgrading during the move
A move is a good moment to review your plan. If you are adding a second TV, need faster internet or want OTT apps bundled in, it is easiest to change everything in a single installation.
The bottom line
Plan TV and broadband together when you move. With IPTV over fiber, one installation brings back both — and the family can settle in with their favourite channels from day one.
