Catch-Up TV: Never Miss Your Favourite Show Again
Catch-up and recording features change how you watch live TV. Learn what they are and how to use them.

Missed the first half of a serial because dinner ran late? Came home just after the news headlines? Catch-up TV lets you go back in time on supported channels and watch programmes that have already aired.
What catch-up TV is
Catch-up keeps recent programmes from selected channels available for a limited period — often a few days. You browse back through the programme guide, choose a show that already aired and watch it from the beginning.
How it differs from recording
Recording saves a programme you choose in advance to a box or cloud storage. Catch-up works even if you forgot to plan ahead, but it is only available for channels and programmes where broadcasters allow it. Many viewers use both: recording for must-watch shows and catch-up as a safety net.
Restart a show that already began
A related feature lets you restart a programme that is currently airing. Tuned in ten minutes late to a movie? Press restart and watch it from the beginning while the live broadcast continues.
Finding catch-up content
The electronic programme guide shows past, present and future programmes. Scroll left or back to see earlier shows; those available for catch-up are usually marked with an icon.
Making the most of it
- Mark favourite channels so you can find their past programmes quickly.
- Check which channels in your pack support catch-up.
- Use catch-up for news bulletins and daily serials that you often miss.
Why it matters for families
Catch-up reduces arguments over the remote. If two people want different shows at the same time, one can watch live and the other can catch up later in the evening.
The bottom line
Catch-up turns live TV into something much closer to on-demand viewing. It is one of the quiet advantages of IPTV over traditional TV, and part of why Purple MAX fits busy households so well.
